Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Hokusai Labs, LLC ("Hokusai," "we," "us," or "our") operates hokus.ai, APIs, dashboards, smart-contract interfaces, and related services for shared AI decision layers, including routing, evaluation, benchmarking, and contributor reward systems.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the Service, submit data, call an API, participate in contribution or reward programs, or interact with Hokusai protocol components.

2. Information We Collect

Account, Identity, and Contact Information

  • name, email address, credentials, organization, role, and account settings;
  • wallet addresses, authentication events, and signatures used to verify wallet ownership;
  • support requests, feedback, survey responses, and other communications with us; and
  • information needed to administer investor, contributor, billing, or reward eligibility workflows.

Contribution Data

If you intentionally submit data through a designated contribution workflow, we collect the submitted task data, prompts, outputs, labels, annotations, evaluation results, benchmark entries, outcome signals, routing information, metadata, acceptance or rejection signals, and related materials ("Contribution Data").

Router, API, and Evaluation Data

  • API requests and responses, including prompts, inputs, outputs, model choices, and parameters;
  • routing decisions, fallback decisions, model-provider selections, latency, cost, and error data;
  • evaluation harness data, benchmark scores, test results, and outcome measurements; and
  • API keys, usage volumes, rate-limit events, abuse-detection signals, and billing records.

Technical, Device, and Usage Information

  • IP address, approximate location, user agent, device and browser information, and timestamps;
  • pages visited, features used, referring pages, diagnostics, logs, and crash reports; and
  • cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, security, analytics, and preferences.

Payment and On-Chain Information

  • payment status, credit balances, transaction history, invoices, and payment-method metadata;
  • public blockchain data, including wallet addresses, token transactions, contract interactions, and claims; and
  • information received from payment processors, wallet providers, RPC providers, and compliance vendors.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • provide, operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
  • create and manage accounts, organizations, API keys, wallets, billing, credits, and rewards;
  • route requests to models, model providers, tools, evaluators, and infrastructure providers;
  • run evaluations, benchmarks, attribution systems, simulations, and reward calculations;
  • train, validate, and improve Hokusai decision layers using Contribution Data;
  • monitor usage, detect abuse, investigate security issues, and enforce our terms and policies;
  • provide support, send service notices, and respond to your requests; and
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, sanctions, and regulatory obligations.

4. Contribution Data and Model Improvement

Contribution Data is data you intentionally submit through designated contribution workflows for training, benchmarking, evaluation, attribution, governance, or reward eligibility. We may use Contribution Data to train, evaluate, validate, and improve Hokusai models, routers, benchmarks, datasets, scoring systems, and other decision layers.

We may retain accepted Contribution Data as part of training corpora, benchmark corpora, evaluation records, attribution records, governance records, security records, and reward calculations. Because these systems depend on reproducible records, accepted Contribution Data may be difficult or impractical to remove after it has been incorporated.

Do not submit personal data, confidential information, regulated data, trade secrets, credentials, or third-party data unless you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it for these purposes.

5. Paid API Usage, Router Traffic, and Model Providers

Ordinary paid API usage is not Contribution Data unless you intentionally submit it through a designated contribution workflow or otherwise opt in to a contribution, benchmarking, or improvement program.

To provide routing and inference services, we may transmit prompts, inputs, outputs, parameters, metadata, and related request information to model providers, router providers, evaluation providers, cloud providers, logging and monitoring vendors, and other subprocessors. These providers may include model platforms and routers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, and similar services, depending on the model, route, integration, or feature you use.

Third-party model and router providers process information under their own terms, privacy policies, data-processing terms, and account settings. Their practices may vary by model, endpoint, provider, region, retention setting, zero-data-retention setting, enterprise setting, training opt-out, and feature configuration.

Where reasonably available, we prefer provider configurations that limit training on API inputs and outputs. We cannot guarantee that every third-party model or router provider will offer the same logging, retention, training, or deletion controls.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

  • to service providers and subprocessors that host, secure, analyze, support, or operate the Service;
  • to model providers, router providers, evaluation providers, and infrastructure providers as needed to fulfill requests;
  • to payment processors, wallet providers, RPC providers, compliance vendors, auditors, and professional advisers;
  • to organization administrators for accounts managed by an organization;
  • to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests;
  • to protect the rights, safety, security, and property of Hokusai, users, providers, and the public; and
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging it for money. If we use analytics or advertising technologies that are considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws, you may have the right to opt out as described below.

7. Public and On-Chain Information

Blockchain transactions are public, persistent, and outside our control. Wallet addresses, token balances, contract interactions, reward claims, and related on-chain activity may be visible to anyone and may be indexed by third parties. If you connect a wallet or use protocol contracts, we may associate that wallet with your account, contributions, rewards, credits, or eligibility status.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect the Service, understand usage, measure performance, and improve our products. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling some cookies may affect Service functionality.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, API keys, private keys, wallets, repositories, and secrets.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain security, administer billing and rewards, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, satisfy legal obligations, and support reproducible benchmarks, audits, attribution, and protocol records.

Router and API logs may be retained for operational, security, abuse-prevention, support, billing, and compliance purposes. Retention periods may vary by product, customer configuration, provider, endpoint, and legal requirement.

Accepted Contribution Data, benchmark records, attribution records, governance records, on-chain data, and reward records may be retained for longer periods because they support training, measurement, auditing, fraud prevention, and protocol accounting.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of personal information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • request portability of your data;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • opt out of certain analytics, advertising, or model-improvement settings where available.

Some requests may be limited by legal obligations, security needs, billing records, on-chain records, accepted Contribution Data, benchmark integrity, reward accounting, or other legitimate operational needs.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@hokus.ai.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

13. International Processing

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your location.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
